![]() | Story A young girl walks home one day and notices a flock of birds on a lawn. She runs through them and watches as they fly off in the distance, wishing she could fly too. After finding a cardboard box, she makes cardboard wings for herself before going to sleep... and wakes up to a surprise the next morning. This is a short film about high hopes and the power of imagination. Treatment Flight will be animated using traditional 2d animation methods. I am greatly inspired by Brad Bird's The Iron Giant and Disney's Lilo and Stitch in reference to art direction, aesthetics, and animation technique. In addition, if all goes according to plan the backgrounds will be done in watercolor, like those of the classic Disney Films. | ![]() | |||
In light of the above, I would like to develop my skills in layout design, character design, storyboarding, and above all, character animation. As for clean-up technique, I plan on keeping the linework slightly rough, instead of clean, because I feel that rough lines show more energy and life.
